The Last Red Pot: Hungary’s Final Traditional Enamel Factory Closes After 117 Years

A red enamel saucepan may look like an ordinary kitchen object. In Hungary, however, the familiar Bonyhád red pot became something closer to industrial folklore. It cooked soups and stews in generations of homes, survived decades of changing fashions and was often passed from grandparents to children because, quite simply, it refused to wear out.
